Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys
A Human Home
PRE-ORDER NOW AVAILABLE - ALBUM RELEASES 31 MAY 2024
‘A Human Home’ was written during lockdown in Lucy’s room in Berlin. It is a low-fi, intimate, and expressive collection of musical sketches that explore what it means to find and feel at home. Featuring a number of accidental and deliberate remote collaborations, it documents a specific, personal, and universally shared moment in time.
The album's first single, "Rooms," starts with the repeated phrase, "I just wanna be close," setting the tone with lush synths and strings. Initially planning to base songs on collected poems and art reflecting isolation from her circle, Lucy instead found inspiration in real-time voice notes and texts during unscripted conversations. The track features a duet with her best friend, Candice Cruse, and string contributions from Jean-Louise Parker, who later joined Lucy's band, The Lost Boys. The album, emphasizing the significant influence of personal connections, also features artwork by Julia Schimautz and photography by Francis Broek, styled by Lenny-Dee Doucha.
